Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling techniques and patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts. Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing for changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately while respecting residents' rights and confidentiality under HIPAA regulations. Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal intake to support overall health and dietary needs. Support patients with medication administration following care plans and ensuring proper documentation. Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control standards are met. Provide emotional support through compassionate communication, engaging residents in activities that promote mental stimulation and social interaction. Assist with transportation needs for appointments or community outings, ensuring safety during transfers and mobility assistance. Skills Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities, developmental or intellectual disabilities, autism, dementia, or neurodevelopmental disorders. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care strategies including Alzheimer's and memory care practices. Familiarity with care plans, patient monitoring tools, and medication management procedures. Ability to operate patient transfer equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely and effectively. Strong understanding of resident's rights, HIPAA compliance, and confidentiality standards. Skilled in providing personal transportation assistance and supporting clients with community engagement activities. Certifications in CPR, First Aid, and basic life support are highly preferred to ensure immediate response during emergencies.
