Job Description

We are seeking a qualified and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team. This position is ideal for dependable individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in healthcare or behavioral science fields. DSPs play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental or physical disabilities, helping them build independence and improve quality of life through everyday support and care. We currently only have a part-time 3rd shift available, but are willing to hire for PRN. This is a meaningful opportunity for those looking to start or grow a career in human services, healthcare, psychology, or social work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support clients with daily living tasks, including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming Encourage independence and skill-building in daily routines Assist with household tasks such as laundry, cleaning, meal prep, and grocery shopping Monitor and report any changes in client behavior, health, or needs Foster positive relationships between clients and staff Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive home environment Document services provided in accordance with agency standards Follow all safety protocols and care procedures Fostering positive relationships between individuals served and their housemates Assisting with toileting, including bedpans, urinals, and commode chairs Reminding/assisting client with self-administration of medications (with proper training) Reporting changes in client's condition or family situation to the office Documenting services provided Performing home management functions such as light housekeeping, laundry, bed making, and cleaning Accompanying client to scheduled appointments Transporting clients or running errands for clients Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements:
At Least 18 Years of Age High School Diploma or equivalent (Required) Valid Drivers License (Required) Medication Administration Certification (Required or Willing to Obtain) TB Test (Required or Willing to Obtain)
Experience:
Experience in Residential or Home Health settings (strongly preferred) Minimum of 1 year of caregiving or nursing experience (Preferred) Prior experience in a DSP role is a plus Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities is highly valued
Skills & Competencies:
Ability to communicate (verbally and written) with all levels of personnel, internal and external to the company Ability to handle physical aspects of job, including bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and walking for periods of time Must maintain state regulatory certifications, as required by state/program requirements Medication Administration as required by state/program requirements
