Job Summary We are seeking one dedicated, vigilant, and compassionate Awake 3rd Shift Direct Support Professional (DSP) for our New Castle Group Home. Because our clients rely on us 24/7, this critical role requires you to remain fully awake and alert through the night to ensure resident safety, manage facility cleanliness, and lead our clients through their morning routines.
Key Duties & Responsibilities Overnight Safety & Alertness:
Maintain complete overnight vigilance, conducting regular safety checks to ensure the security and physical well-being of residents.Morning Routines & Personal Care:
Provide hands-on, respectful assistance with morning waking, showering, grooming, and dressing.Meal Prep & Nutrition:
Assist with breakfast planning, cooking, and meal preparation according to specific dietary care plans.Medication Administration:
Safely administer medications and monitor vital signs as required, adhering strictly to state regulatory training.Behavior Support:
Implement individualized behavior management strategies calmly and effectively, promoting positive social skills.Compliance & Documentation:
Document client progress, daily notes, and behavior logs accurately while strictly adhering to HIPAA and privacy regulations.Facility Upkeep:
Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized home environment during quiet overnight hours.Requirements & Qualifications Valid Driver's License:
Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.Reliable Self-Transportation:
Must have personal, reliable transportation to travel to and from the New Castle home punctually.Physical Stamina:
Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to safely assist clients.Background Checks:
Ability to pass all mandatory state background checks, registry checks, and drug screenings. Experience & Skills (Paid Training Provided!) Previous experience in a group home, nursing home, home care, or hospice setting is a plus, but not required—we will train the right person!High emotional intelligence:
Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others. Strong communication and organizational skills with an absolute attention to detail. CPR/First Aid/AED certifications are preferred but can be completed during paid orientation.
