Janus Developmental Services, Inc. has an immediate need for a dedicated and passionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing programs aimed at enhancing the skills and capabilities of individuals with varying degrees of disabilities and/or autism. This position requires a strong commitment to mentoring, educating, and empowering these individuals. Responsibilities Educate participants on essential life skills and social integration. Provide ongoing mentorship and support to participants, fostering their growth. Collaborate with social workers and other professionals to create a supportive environment for individuals. Monitor and administer participant medications. Track and report progress on program and client goals. Assist individuals with restroom use and supporting them in the changing room as needed, while maintaining their privacy and dignity. Plan and create program activities including gardening, fitness, and art programs in accordance with participant and company goals. Manage participants in public outings and monitor behaviors. Skills Experience working with people who have developmental disabilities or autism is highly desirable. Excellent mentoring skills that inspire confidence and motivation in others. Excellent time management skills. Ability to work collaboratively with social work professionals and community organizations. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey information. Willingness to evolve and adapt according to client needs and changing of state and federal guidelines. Education High school diploma/GED required. Must pass pre-employment background check and pre-employment drug screen.
