Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals with diverse needs, including developmental disabilities, aging, or health conditions such as dementia or Alzheimer's. In this vital role, you will empower residents to lead fulfilling lives by supporting their daily activities, ensuring safety, and promoting independence within a caring environment. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident's personal assistive devices Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare teams Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary needs and assist residents during meal times to promote proper nutrition Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning routines and adherence to infection control protocols Support residents with memory care needs, dementia or Alzheimer's care by implementing specialized techniques and engaging activities Document care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA standards and facility policies Requirements Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and HIPAA compliance are required or must be obtained upon hire Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks associated with patient care Strong communication skills for collaborating with healthcare professionals, residents, and families Compassionate attitude with a dedication to providing respectful and dignified support to individuals with disabilities or health challenges Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, dementia, or hospice care is advantageous Join us as a Direct Support Professional and become an essential part of a team committed to enriching lives through compassionate caregiving.
