Overview Join TMJ Home Care LLC our compassionate team as a Personal Care Assistant, where your dedication and empathy will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring support with daily activities and personal care. In this vital role, you will provide hands-on assistance, promote independence, and ensure a safe, respectful environment for residents across various care settings. Your positive attitude and proactive approach will help enhance quality of life for those you serve, fostering trust and comfort every day. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote dignity and independence. Support patients with mobility and transfers using appropriate techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods to ensure safety. Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare professionals. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary. Maintain accurate care plans, document patient progress, medication administration, and adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect privacy. Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a caring environment that promotes mental well-being. Assist with medication reminders, light cleaning, personal transportation assistance, and other household tasks to ensure a clean and comfortable living space. Skills Experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments. Strong patient observation skills with the ability to recognize changes in condition or behavior. Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, hospice care, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism. Proficiency in manual handling techniques including heavy lifting and patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts. Ability to perform first aid and CPR confidently; familiarity with vital signs monitoring is a plus. Excellent communication skills for effective client interaction and teamwork within multidisciplinary settings. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities supporting intellectual disabilities support.
