This is a great fit for someone with veterinary technician or animal shelter experience who genuinely enjoys spending time with cats — not just completing tasks, but noticing how each cat is doing and flagging changes early.

$15-$20/hour, depending on experience

• Evening and weekend availability preferred, some overnight stays possible (Don't worry, you get to sleep. We need someone to be there to take care of the kitties while we're out of town.) Hours per week: Not traveling: 10-12 a week;

overnights TBD Contract length: 6 months Responsibilities Feed cats according to individual diet plans and refresh water regularly Administer oral and topical medications as directed Monitor and record heart rate and respiratory rate, and report anything unusual Spend one-on-one time with each cat for socialization, enrichment, and comfort Keep feeding, medication, and observation logs accurate and up to date Maintain clean, safe, low-stress living spaces Handle cats safely using proper restraint techniques to ensure their comfort and safety during examinations or treatments. Maintain cleanliness of cat enclosures, common areas, and equipment Record detailed notes on each cat's health status and behavior Observe animal behavior closely to identify signs of distress or illness, communicating concerns promptly to owners and/or transporting cats to the emergency vet's office What we're looking for Prior experience as a vet tech, vet assistant, animal shelter or rescue volunteer, or in a similar animal care role Comfort handling cats, including those who are shy, senior, or need medication Ability to administer oral and topical medications confidently and safely Dependability and strong follow-through — cats rely on a consistent routine Clear communication and careful record keeping Reliable transportation (own vehicle preferred) Availability on evenings and weekends, some overnight stays Nice to have Familiarity with taking vital signs and recognizing early signs of illness Experience with multi-cat environments or medical foster care How to apply Apply through Indeed with a brief note about your animal care experience and your general weekly availability.
