We are seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and ASD through DDS-funded services. Our programs support individuals living in residential settings, independently, or with their families and guardians. DSPs play a vital role in helping individuals build skills, maintain community connections, and achieve greater independence while honoring their choices, preferences, and rights. Position Summary The Direct Support Professional provides person-centered support to individuals receiving services through Department of Developmental Services (DDS)-funded programs. Supports may be provided in residential homes, family homes, community settings, and other locations based on individual needs and goals. DSPs work with individuals who may be their own guardians as well as individuals living with and supported by guardian family members. The DSP promotes independence, self-determination, dignity, and community inclusion while ensuring health, safety, and well-being. Responsibilities Provide direct support and assistance based on each individual's goals, preferences, and support needs. Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including meal preparation, household tasks, personal care, and medication administration, as applicable. Support individuals in developing independent living, social, communication, and community participation skills. Accompany individuals to community activities, appointments, recreational events, and employment or volunteer opportunities. Foster positive relationships with individuals, families, guardians, coworkers, and community members. Support and encourage individuals to make informed decisions and exercise personal choice. Implement Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and document progress toward goals. Complete required documentation, daily notes, incident reports, and other records accurately and on time. Ensure compliance with DDS regulations, agency policies, and best practices. Respond appropriately to emergencies and health and safety concerns. Maintain confidentiality and respect the rights and dignity of all individuals supported.

Qualifications Required:

High school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to pass CORI, fingerprinting background check, DPPC record check Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred. Experience in human services, residential services, healthcare, education, or related fields preferred. CPR, First Aid certification, MAP Certification, or ability to obtain required certifications within 3 months of hire.

Pay:

$17.75 - $21.00 per hour Expected hours: 16.0 - 40.0 per week
