Responsibilities:
Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Provide medication administration and monitor vital signs in accordance with care plans Support patients with Alzheimer's, dementia, or memory care needs through specialized techniques Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements and assist with feeding as needed Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and maintaining a safe environment Observe and document patient conditions, report changes to healthcare professionals promptly Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or other mobility aids safely and effectively Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality Support patients during outings or community activities to promote social engagement Follow established care plans and protocols for residents or clients with disabilities or chronic conditions Maintain accurate records of patient care activities and observations
Experience:
Prior experience in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care preferred Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, Alzheimer's/dementia, or memory care required Knowledge of medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and basic nursing procedures preferred Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards necessary Previous caregiving experience in hospice care or home health services is advantageous Experience working with residents who require assistance with ADLs or use equipment like Hoyer lifts is beneficial Background in social work or long-term care enhances ability to develop comprehensive care plans
Certifications:
Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are highly desirable
