About the
Role:
Housing Advocacy Vocational and Employment (HAVE) is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team in Clarksburg, MD. This weekend overnight position (Saturday and Sunday, 10 PM - 6 AM) is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals who need your support and care.
Responsibilities:
Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities during overnight shifts Monitor and ensure the safety, health, and well-being of residents throughout the night Assist individuals with daily living activities including personal hygiene, mobility, and medication management Document and maintain accurate shift logs, incident reports, and care notes Respond promptly and appropriately to any overnight emergencies or behavioral situations Foster a supportive, respectful, and empowering environment for all individuals in care Communicate effectively with incoming staff during shift transitions and handoffs
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required Previous experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) or in a caregiving role preferred Ability to work overnight weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday, 10 PM - 6 AM) consistently Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient, empathetic demeanor Ability to pass a background check and drug screening CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire) Reliable, punctual, and committed to providing high-quality person-centered care
