About the
Role:
Housing Advocacy Vocational and Employment is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team in Gaithersburg, MD! This weekend position (Saturday & Sunday, 8 AM - 8 PM) is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities. If you have a passion for helping others and want to be part of a supportive team, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
Provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities Assist clients with daily living activities including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and mobility Implement individualized support plans and document progress accurately Facilitate community integration and recreational activities during weekend shifts Administer medications and monitor health needs in accordance with care plans Ensure a safe, clean, and supportive living environment for all residents Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and family members regarding client well-being
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required Prior experience in direct support, caregiving, or human services preferred Ability to work 12-hour weekend shifts (Saturday & Sunday, 8 AM - 8 PM) Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient, empathetic demeanor Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire) Must pass background check and meet state DSP requirements in
