Now Hiring:
Dedicated 1:1 High School Aide & Communication Regulation Partner (CRP) — S2C/RPM We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and dedicated individual to serve as a full-time one-on-one aide and Communication Regulation Partner (CRP) for a bright high school student who is nonspeaking autistic and has apraxia. This position is based at a high school in Rockville, Maryland, where the successful candidate will provide individualized support throughout the entire school day. This is not a traditional classroom aide position. This role requires a dedicated individual committed to supporting one student throughout the entire school day, including communication, academics, transitions, personal care, and daily routines. The ideal candidate has training and experience in Spelling 2 Communicate (S2C) and/or Rapid Prompting Method (RPM) and is passionate about supporting nonspeaking individuals in accessing communication, education, independence, and meaningful participation. We are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates patience, commitment, and a genuine desire to learn. Position Overview This is a unique opportunity to work one-on-one with an incredible student as both a dedicated educational aide and Communication Regulation Partner. The successful candidate will support all aspects of the student's school day while always promoting dignity, independence, and respect. Responsibilities
  • Serve as the student's dedicated 1:1 aide and Communication Regulation Partner (CRP) throughout the school day.
  • Provide communication support using Spelling 2 Communicate (S2C) and/or Rapid Prompting Method (RPM).
  • Support all parts of the school day, including:
  • Classroom participation and academic activities
  • Transitions between classes and activities
  • Lunch and eating support
  • Bathroom and personal care assistance
  • Organization and daily routines
  • School activities and community-based learning opportunities
  • Help the student regulate, participate, and successfully access the school environment.
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and meaningful communication.
  • Collaborate with family, educators, therapists, and the student's support team. Housing Included This position includes a private lower-level apartment in our family home featuring:

  • Experience or training in S2C and/or RPM preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to learn communication methods with training provided for the right candidate.
  • Comfortable providing personal care support, including bathroom and eating assistance.
  • Patient, dependable, and professional.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to presuming competence and respecting the communication of nonspeaking individuals.
  • Experience supporting autistic or neurodivergent individuals is preferred. Compensation & Benefits
