Job Description

CARAFAP (Care and Recreational Activities for Autistic People) provides in-home support services throughout Maryland. Guided by our mission to enhance the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health diagnoses, we promote independence, community inclusion, and overall well-being through innovative, individualized support. Be Considered, You Must Have:
A least 100 hours of experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities; however, 1 year is preferred High School Diploma or equivalent prefferred
Responsibilities:
Provide intensive individual support services, personal support services, and/or respite care to clients in their homes and/or community settings. Promote clients' independence and autonomy by implementing behavior management strategies and skill-building activities. Effectively manage challenging behaviors, including situations involving extreme aggression, using appropriate and least intrusive interventions. Engage clients in structured, activity-based programming tailored to their needs. Complete all required documentation in a timely manner, including time and attendance records, daily logs, progress notes, monthly reports, treatment plans, and crisis plans. Facilitate community integration by encouraging clients to utilize public resources and recreational facilities. Maintain strict consumer confidentiality at all times. Provide direct supervision to clients and maintain client safety/wellbeing during the delivery of respite services.
