ABOUT SKILLS, INC A
Maine nonprofit, we were founded by families. In the 1950's, different families built nonprofits to support their children with intellectual disabilities. SKILLS was born from those early organizations. We started serving only adults with intellectual disabilities. Over the last 60 years, we have added services and expanded programs. Our mission is to provide a supportive environment for employees and people receiving support. We see the individual- not a person defined by their disability, but by their dreams, aspirations, and capabilities.
QUALIFICATIONS 18
years of age or older High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license Basic computer skills Ability to pass a background check upon hire A heart for supporting people with disabilities Responsibilities- Provide direct care, support, and transportation to individuals with disabilities in a center based community support setting and in their communities.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Monitor and document observations and behaviors.
- Utilize first aid skills when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for adults with disabilities.
- Engage in social work practices to promote a positive and supportive environment.
FULL-TIME
This position has a primary schedule of Monday- Friday 1st shift, with occasional evening shift, holiday, and weekend shifts as needed by the persons served. Weekend hours worked between 6:01 am
- 9:59 pm pay $1.
