Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This is a part-time position , with the potential to increase hours over time based on client needs and performance . The ideal candidate must be available for morning shifts and will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, particularly seniors and those requiring specialized care. This role requires a strong commitment to patient well-being and the ability to work effectively in a home community care setting. Duties Assist clients with personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment Monitor client health and report any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals Provide companionship and engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being Support clients with mobility assistance and transfers as needed Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect client privacy Assist with memory care strategies for clients experiencing cognitive challenges Utilize first aid techniques when necessary to ensure client safety Skills Proficient in cooking and meal preparation tailored to dietary needs Strong cleaning skills to maintain a hygienic living space Knowledge of HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality Experience in social work or related fields is preferred Familiarity with home community care practices and senior care protocols Ability to effectively monitor patients and recognize when medical attention is needed Certification in first aid is a plus Experience in memory care techniques for individuals with dementia or other cognitive impairments A compassionate approach to caregiving, demonstrating patience and empathy at all times Experience & Qualifications PSS Certificate required or willingness to obtain within 9 months (must begin class within 2 months of hire) Prefer at least 1 year of experience in client care Background in social work or related fields is a plus Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with diverse clients High School diploma or equivalent preferred
