We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents by providing comprehensive personal care, support with daily activities, and assistance with health and safety needs. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with disabilities, including developmental and neurodevelopmental disorders, and possess a strong commitment to quality care. Duties Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor residents' health status by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes to healthcare professionals. Administer medications following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols. Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary requirements and assist residents during meal times. Support residents in participating in community activities, appointments, and transportation needs. Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and manual handling practices. Provide specialized care for residents with dementia, Alzheimer's, or other neurodevelopmental disorders, including memory care strategies. Document resident progress accurately in care plans and communicate effectively with team members regarding individual needs. Skills Proven experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments. Strong knowledge of patient observation, monitoring vital signs, medication administration, and first aid/CPR certification. Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer's care, hospice care, and memory support techniques. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely while supporting resident mobility. Excellent communication skills for engaging with residents, families, and healthcare teams. Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities; supporting intellectual disabilities is highly valued. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of resident information. Competence in meal preparation, personal transportation assistance, and assisting with ADLs efficiently.
