Job Description

Overview The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in assisting individuals with developmental disabilities or special needs to lead fulfilling lives. This position involves providing support in daily living activities, fostering independence, and enhancing the quality of life for those served. The DSP will work closely with clients to promote their personal goals and help them navigate their environments safely and effectively. Duties Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks. Support individuals in community integration and participation in social activities. Implement individualized support plans tailored to each client's needs and preferences. Maintain a safe and supportive environment by adhering to health and safety regulations. Document client progress and report any changes in behavior or health to the appropriate personnel. Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent care and support for clients. Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote skill development and independence. Assist clients with creative woodworking project creation and assembly Experience Candidates should possess a strong background in construction-related skills, which may include: Basic woodworking construction skills Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and construction experience. Must be able to multi-task to keep projects moving forward Flexibility and adaptability.
