Job Description

Job Summary:
Person will be responsible for implementing individual program plan methods, under the direction of the Program Specialist and Executive Director. This person will also work closely with the Direct Support Supervisor in recommending changes in program plans. A person in this position is required to work in conjunction with other staff in the overall care of adult persons who are Developmentally Disabled. This means assisting each person based on their ability level with all aspects of daily living skills. Some shifts will be scheduled, and some will be filling in for other staff on an on-call basis.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
The person is responsible for, but not limited to the following: 1. Implementing methods of the individual program plans for each participant. 2. Work with Program Specialist in evaluating program plan of participation. 3. Relate pertinent information on participants to the Program Specialist and Executive Director. 4. Work closely with the Program Specialist and Executive Director to recommend and develop change in program plans. 5. Attend staff meetings. 6. Attend workshops at the discretion of the Executive Director. 7. Assist participants in personal hygiene.
Job Conditions:
A. This job is normally M-F however there will be exceptions. Job expectations are on occasions to assist during evening and weekends for example but not limited to Special Olympics, Camp, Fundraisers, outings, Fairs and Parades. B. There is a 3-month probationary period for all employees. Employees are not eligible for PTO until successful completion of the probationary period. D. Accrued PTO monthly. E. Will be filling in when other staff are sick or using PTO. F. Must pass a criminal background check with the State of Minnesota. G. Must successfully complete all necessary paperwork before eligible benefits will begin. H. Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
