This role is essential in promoting independence, enhancing quality of life, and ensuring the safety and well-being of our clients. The Direct Support Professional will work closely with individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities and community environments. Duties Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities and autism, assisting with daily living activities. Administer medications as prescribed, ensuring compliance with health protocols. Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, grooming, and dressing. Support clients in developing social skills and engaging in community activities. Lift and transfer clients safely as needed, adhering to proper techniques to ensure their comfort and safety. Maintain a clean and organized living environment for clients. Document daily activities, progress, and any changes in client behavior or health status. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other staff to develop individualized care plans. Provide first aid when necessary and respond appropriately to emergencies. Qualifications Experience in direct support or working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is preferred. Knowledge of medication administration practices is a plus. Background in social work, senior care, or assisted living environments is advantageous. Ability to lift clients safely and assist them with mobility as required. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members. Certification in first aid or CPR is desirable. A compassionate attitude towards individuals with diverse needs and backgrounds. Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends as needed.
