Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene. Support residents during meal preparation and feeding to promote nutritional health. Monitor patients' vital signs and observe for any changes in health status, reporting findings promptly. Administer medications following care plans and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Operate patient transfer equipment such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques to ensure safe mobility. Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities, medication administration, and incident reports. Engage in patient observation to identify behavioral or health issues early, especially in dementia or Alzheimer's care settings. Support residents' participation in community activities and provide transportation assistance when needed. Follow all safety protocols including CPR and first aid procedures to respond effectively during emergencies. Uphold residents' rights by respecting their preferences, privacy, and dignity at all times. Requirements Previous experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism is advantageous. Familiarity with patient monitoring techniques, care plans development, and medication administration is essential. Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely using proper techniques like patient transfer methods and Hoyer lifts. Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional certifications related to healthcare or caregiving are a plus. Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or intellectual disabilities support is desirable. Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards and uphold resident's rights at all times.
