JOB SUMMARY
As a Lead Direct Support Professional for My Brothers' Keeper, you will assist the House Supervisor in coordinating the delivery of services to all individuals supported in a community residential setting. You will work with the House Supervisor to maintain the compliance of the Direct Support Professionals training according to federal and state regulations and the organizations policies and procedures. You will provide guidance, encouragement, support, comfort, security, and safety through relationship building and direct interaction with the program's individuals. You will lead by example and the person-centered philosophy of My Brothers' Keeper, mentoring staff to support and advocate for the individuals we support on how to complete essential living skills independently and ensure that needs related to health and wellness are met.
JOB DUTIES
Assistance with training new hires and maintaining annual/monthly training for direct support professionals. Assistance with creating and maintaining outcomes, person-centered planning, and positive support strategies. Complete a monthly menu including breakfast, lunch, & dinner. Managing lists and shopping for all groceries and household supplies. Completing monthly expense statements and budgets. Assistance with planning and scheduling activities. Assistance with scheduling and completing medical appointments. Assistance with maintaining a current van maintenance log. Maintain water softener salt levels and refilling as needed, change furnace filter monthly, and complete a fire drill monthly. Maintaining current staff book information. CPR certificate expiration dates, driver's license expiration dates, auto insurance expiration dates, daily/weekly/monthly staff duties, staff phone numbers, etc. Complete weekly medication set up if applicable. Reordering PRNs as needed. Assistance with communicating pertinent updates regarding the house, staffing, and the individuals we support to direct support professionals. Assistance maintaining licensing standards in the home. On-call every other (Rotating) weekend. Must be available for phone calls and shift coverage as required. Assistance with additional job duties as assigned by your House Supervisor.
Requirements:
2+ years experience working in a group home setting. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must hold a Full-Time position. Must pass a background study performed by DHS. Must maintain a valid driver's license and vehicle insurance. Must be CPR and First Aid Certified. (will retrain if expired) Must be Medication Administration Certified.

Maintain up to date knowledge of state and county licensing requirements. Ability to maintain good employee relations and morale. Ability to nurture, empower, guide, and mentor Direct Support Professionals. Problem solving and critical thinking skills. Willingness to take initiative and adapt to circumstances. Ability to follow daily routines while allowing for flexibility and planning creative alternatives. Ability to implement therapeutic interventions as required. Ability to effectively operate technology. Ability to accept and incorporate new methods into existing practices.
