BlueWest Opportunities is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and motivated Day Program Support Professional to provide community-based support to an individual with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. This unique position is scheduled three days per week—Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. You'll spend your workday in the community supporting volunteer activities, community networking, social engagement, and opportunities that promote independence and inclusion. Your Schedule Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Approximately 24 hours per week Community-based position in the Asheville area What You'll Do As a Day Program Support Professional, you will: Pick up the individual at their residence at approximately 7:00 a.m. Provide transportation and support while participating in the Meals on Wheels North Route Encourage and assist with active participation in volunteer activities Support community networking, social engagement, and relationship-building opportunities Help identify meaningful activities and opportunities within the community Promote independence, personal choice, inclusion, and achievement of person-centered goals Provide appropriate supervision and support throughout the day Safely transport the individual between community activities and locations Return the individual to their residence at approximately 3:00 p.m. Complete required documentation and follow individualized service plans and agency policies

What We're Looking For Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required Valid driver's license and ability to meet agency driving requirements Ability to reliably work Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Ability to safely transport and support an individual in community-based settings Ability to complete required agency orientation and training Dependable and reliable attendance and transportation

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities Experience providing direct support, caregiving, community-based services, or similar assistance Strong communication and interpersonal skills Patient, positive, professional, and person-centered approach Previous experience with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities is preferred but not required.
