FIRSTwnc is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals with dual diagnoses (mental health and intellectual/developmental disabilities) across the Asheville area. As a DSP , you'll support people with unique strengths and needs to lead self-directed lives. You'll guide individuals through everyday life skills, encourage personal growth, and foster independence and community participation. No two days are the same! Your role is shaped by the interests and goals of the people you serve.

Responsibilities include:

Supporting Adult Daily Living Skills (ADLs): cooking, cleaning, laundry, personal care, meal prep Transportation for errands, appointments, and community activities Encouraging healthy lifestyle choices and helping individuals explore employment or volunteer opportunities Pet care and helping manage household tasks Weekend, evening, and some holiday availability is required

Requirements:

Must be 18+ Must have a high school diploma or GED Must have a reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license with current auto insurance Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays Comfortable working with individuals who experience both intellectual disabilities and mental health challenges Must be willing to do personal care and hygiene with individuals supported
