We are recruiting for Direct Support Professional (DSP) for multiple group homes in Warren, Vance and Granville Counties. This position is considered essential to patient care. Schedule is
EVERY OTHER WEEKEND
from 7am - 11pm, sleep, 7am - 11pm and sleep. 32 hours per weekend, with PAID $40 per night
STIPEND FOR SLEEPOVERS.
General Summary Working with adults with Intellectual / Developmental Disabilities in their home. Cooking, light housekeeping, passing medications and assistance with personal care. Teaching them the basics of daily living skills. Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit Legacy Human Services, Inc. operates group homes which are 24 hour residential facilities which serves adult with developmental disabilities primarily from Vance, Granville, Franklin and Warren Counties. The homes exist to provide a variety of services to the 5-6 individuals of the home. Some services include social, recreational, educational, direct care, and other habilitative services. The staff are responsible for assisting in the formulation of a habilitative program which will meet the needs of each individual. Primary Purpose of the Position This position provides the "front line" services to individuals in the home. Services include training in self-care skills, appropriate community/public skills activities of daily living, behavior management, and other programs/guidelines devised by the treatment team. The position also provides direct health care services that are based on each individuals needs. The range of this type of care may be from considerable for individuals with multiple disabilities (i.e. Non-ambulatory, gross and fine motor impairment) to minimal for individuals who possess the skills that allow for greater independence. All staff work to ensure that State licensure regulations and other requirements, such as MCO, and Accreditation Standards are met. Work Schedule
EVERY OTHER WEEKEND
7am - 11pm Sat, Sleepover, 7am - 11pm Sun, Sleepover = 32 Hours + 2 Sleepovers. All residential facilities require 24 hour staffing. A sleep agreement is required for this position to assure that staff are present in the home overnight. This pays another $40 per night. Qualifications Previous experience providing services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities and/or other related disorders preferred. Ability to communicate (verbal and written) with all levels of personnel, internal and external to the company. Ability to work flexible hours and locations and cover direct care shifts as necessary.
