Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of care. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, particularly those with developmental disabilities, by assisting them with daily activities and ensuring their well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience in group homes, nursing homes, or home care settings and possess a strong commitment to patient observation and care. Responsibilities Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing. Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary needs and preferences. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition. Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful conversations and activities. Observe and document client behavior, health status, and any changes in condition. Support clients in participating in social activities and community outings. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by adhering to health and safety protocols. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for each client. Requirements Previous experience in a group home, nursing home, or home care setting is preferred. Knowledge of meal preparation and dietary needs is beneficial. Strong observational skills to monitor client health and behavior effectively. Ability to assist individuals with developmental disabilities compassionately and respectfully. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and team members. Must be reliable, patient, and possess a genuine desire to help others. Certification in CPR/First Aid is a plus but not required at the time of hiring; training will be provided.
