Direct Support Professional
Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team in providing exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs. In this role, you will provide exceptional one-on-one assistance to clients in the comfort of their own home while ensuring their safety and well-being to promote a vibrant quality of life. Your proactive approach will help create a nurturing environment where individuals thrive physically, emotionally, and socially. Duties Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, grooming, dressing, bathing and mobility assistance Monitor residents health by observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly Assist with medication administration and ensure compliance with care plans tailored to each client's needs Address occupational and speech therapy goals effectively Participate with individuals in the community not limited to social and recreational activities Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare regulations and care plans Awareness of ABA best practices and techniques such as positive reinforcement Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal consumption to meet individual dietary needs Maintain a clean, safe environment through regular cleaning and sanitation of living spaces Requirements Prior Direct Support Professional experience and functional engagement with individuals that have Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities. (In-home, Live-in, hospice care, or long-term care settings highly preferred) Experience with medication administration, seizure protocol, CPR certification required or obtainable upon hire Knowledge of patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs Familiarity with HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality Ability to lift heavy objects safely using proper manual handling techniques; physical stamina for long shifts necessary Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges Ability to follow detailed care plans and adapt to changing needs of residents Valid driver's license for client transportation assistance preferred Schedule Variety of Full-Time and Part-Time Positions Available Hourly Rate $28.00
