Full Job Description Personal Care Assistant Location:

Must report to Office in Garfield office on a daily basis and routes will be assigned daily.

We provide high-quality Respite Services for individuals ages 5-21 during after-school, evening, and weekend hours. Our mission is to empower youth and families through compassionate care, community engagement, and personalized support.

Position Summary:

AAS:

Involves traveling to different locations. Hours are 11:00 AM-5:30 PM, or part time can be 2:00/2:30 PM-5:30 PM. Responsibilities include changing diapers, working with children with special needs, etc. Locations are Garfield, Hohokus, Chatham, Orange, and Belleville.

Key Responsibilities:

Travel Between Sites — Support youth across multiple program locations, including Garfield, Hohokus, Chatham, Orange, and Belleville. Daily Care Support — Assist with diaper changing and general hygiene needs as required. Special Needs Support — Work directly with children with special needs, following individualized strategies and staff guidance. Program Hours — Provide coverage during full-time hours (11:00 AM-5:30 PM) or part-time hours (2:00/2:30 PM-5:30 PM). Child Engagement — Participate in daily activities, maintain safety, and support positive interactions within the group setting. Team Collaboration — Work alongside staff to maintain a structured, supportive environment for all youth.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 2-3 years' experience as a Personal Care Assistant At least 6 months' experience working with children with developmental disabilities CPR certification Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within a 10-15 mile radius Working smartphone to access agency HHAX applications

Preferred:

CNA, PCA, or Home Health Aide certification Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities (2 Years+

•) Passion for caregiving & community support Reliable transportation within NJ Background check & clearances required Current college student or degree in Psychology, Social Work, Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, or related field Experience as a Home Health Aide Fluency in a second language

Compensation:
