Job Description
Assisting Hands is seeking a Direct Support Professional to aid a male individual who has Spina Bifida and is a falls risk. The candidate must be experienced, caring, and motivated to aid individuals with developmental disabilities. Responsibilities Assistance with ALL ADLs Safely operate a manual Hoyer Lift to ensure safe transfers for your safety and the individual's safety Support the individual with catheter and colostomy care according to established care plans and training Monitor for changes in health status and report concerns promptly to supervisor and family/guardian Assist individual in making progress on their outcome and goals for the specified service as defined in their Plan of Care Communicate effectively with the care team, family, and supervisor Document services provided (CBS Log) Familiarity with EVV a plus Advocate for individual at all times for patient rights and ensure their dignity and privacy are respected Ensure the safety and well-being of the individual at all times This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. The DSP may be required to perform other duties as assigned by client or client's guardian or Support Coordinator. Must fully comply with ALL Medicaid DDD requirements Must possess good physical stamina when performing tasks such as lifting or turning clients Must be trustworthy and reliable so client and his family feel comfortable having you in their home Must possess good interpersonal skills, compassion and be sensitive to the client's mental, emotional, and physical needs Current CPR/First Aid Certification required Background check and drug screening required Two years (2) working as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) with individuals with developmental disabilities
