Job Description

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to join our team. This role is essential in providing support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life. The ideal candidate will have experience in caregiving, patient care, and a strong understanding of the unique needs of those they support. Requirements Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in a group home setting is preferred. Knowledge of first aid, CPR, and patient monitoring techniques is essential. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals, families, and team members. Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting individuals as needed. Experience in home health care environment is beneficial. A background in nursing or social work may be advantageous for this role. Must be able to work collaboratively within a team while also being able to work independently when required. High school or equivalent (Required)
Experience:
Group home: 1 year (Preferred) Working with people with developmental disabilities: 1 year (Preferred) Direct support: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
Driver's License (Required) Duties Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Provide personal care and support in a respectful and dignified manner. Monitor individual's health by observing vital signs and reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel. Implement care plans tailored to individual needs, ensuring adherence to prescribed routines. Assist with medication administration as required, following HIPAA guidelines. Engage individuals in social activities and community integration to promote independence and social skills. Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks. Support individuals with mobility needs, including the use of assistive devices like Hoyer lifts when necessary. Document individual's progress and any incidents accurately in compliance with organizational policies.
