In Person About the Position Achieve Academy for Adults is seeking a reliable and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our Day Habilitation team in Wall Township, NJ. The DSP will work directly with adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD), helping participants develop greater independence, strengthen everyday life skills, and engage in meaningful activities both within the program and throughout the community. The ideal candidate is patient, dependable, energetic, and comfortable working as part of a team. This position is well suited for someone who enjoys hands-on work and wants to make a positive difference in the lives of the individuals we support. What You'll Do Provide direct, individualized support based on each participant's needs, abilities, and goals. Assist with daily living and personal care activities when needed, including grooming, dressing, eating, toileting, and mobility. Encourage participants to develop greater independence and confidence with everyday tasks. Support the development of communication, social, behavioral, and life skills. Follow established behavior support strategies and assist with maintaining a positive and structured environment. Participate in recreational, educational, vocational, and community-based activities. Assist with community outings and transportation using company vehicles when assigned. Follow appropriate safety procedures during participant transportation, arrival, and departure. Assist with medication-related responsibilities when permitted and required by program policy and applicable procedures. Observe participant progress and collect information related to individual goals and skill development. Complete accurate daily documentation and electronic records. Communicate effectively with the Program Instructor, BCBA, Executive Director, and other members of the team. Help maintain an organized, safe, and welcoming program environment. Work cooperatively with other staff members to support the daily operation of the program. What We're Looking For At least 2 years of experience working with individuals with I/DD, autism, developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, or a related population. High school diploma or GED equivalent. Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record. Ability to successfully complete required background checks and employment screenings. Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills. Ability to provide respectful and compassionate hands-on support. Familiarity with behavior support, skill-building, or community-based services is preferred. Experience with electronic documentation and data collection is preferred. Medication administration experience is a plus.
