Job Summary:
As Direct Support Professional Residential (PRN), you will play a key role in providing support and guidance to individuals who have developmental disabilities living in a residential setting. Your primary responsibility will be to assist residents in developing the skills and knowledge necessary to live independently and lead fulfilling lives. You will work closely with a diverse group of residents, fostering a safe and inclusive environment that promotes personal growth and empowerment.. This is a PRN position in which the employee will work hours that do not conform to a regular schedule.

Advancement Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain a positive and supportive relationship with residents, ensuring their overall well-being and safety. Provide assistance and training to residents in daily living activities, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and household chores. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for residents. Facilitate group activities and social events to encourage social interaction and community engagement. Support residents in developing and enhancing their independent living skills, such as budgeting, transportation, and job readiness. Monitor and document residents' progress and behaviors, reporting any concerns or incidents to the appropriate supervisor. Foster a culturally sensitive and inclusive environment that respects and values the diversity of residents and promotes their self-advocacy. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards of care governing residential facilities.
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age. Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a residential setting is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport and effectively interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Demonstrated understanding and respect for the rights and privacy of individuals in a residential setting. Ability to respond calmly and effectively in crisis situations, demonstrating problem-solving and conflict resolution skills. Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Proficiency in basic documentation.
