Job Description

Kent Animal Shelter is seeking a compassionate and reliable Cat Caretaker to join our team in providing daily care for the cats in our Cattery. This role is essential to ensuring the health, comfort, and overall well-being of our feline residents.
Job Responsibilities:
Provide daily care for cats, including feeding, watering, and administering medications as needed Thoroughly clean and disinfect all living areas Monitor and report any health or behavioral changes Assist in transporting cats to/from veterinary appointments using your own vehicle Perform daily tasks including laundry, dishes, mopping, and general upkeep of the cattery Ensure all cats are treated with compassion, patience, and respect Support other staff as needed with shelter-related duties
Requirements:
Must be 21 years or older High School Diploma or equivalent Valid Driver's License and reliable personal transportation Willingness to transport cats to veterinary appointments as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in animal sheltering, veterinary settings, or cattery work Knowledge of feline behavior and common medical conditions Ability to multitask, work independently, and take initiative Flexible, dependable, and a genuine desire to improve the lives of homeless pets
Physical Requirements:
Able to lift up to 25 lbs routinely without assistance Comfortable working in all weather conditions Capable of performing physically demanding tasks, including bending, stooping, reaching, and cleaning, for a 6-hour shift If you are passionate about animal care and want to make a real difference in the lives of our cats, we'd love to hear from you!
