Job Description

YAI In-Person On-site Interviews - Farmingdale, NY September 24th | 3:30 PM - 6:30 PM YAI is hosting an in-person hiring event for Direct Support Professional opportunities within our residential/day programs in Farmingdale, New York. Candidates will have the opportunity to learn more about YAI, meet directly with our hiring team, and interview for available positions. About YAI YAI is a leading health and human services organization supporting children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Since 1957, YAI has helped people with disabilities live, love, work, and learn within their communities. About the Position Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in building independence, achieving personal goals, and maintaining their health, safety, and well-being.
Responsibilities may include:
Assisting with personal care and activities of daily living Providing emotional and behavioral support Teaching independent living and communication skills Preparing meals and assisting with household responsibilities Supporting recreational and community activities Transporting or accompanying individuals to appointments and outings Completing required documentation Following individualized service and safety plans Qualifications Must be at least 18 years old High school diploma or GED preferred DSP, CNA, HHA, caregiving, healthcare, or human-services experience is a plus but not required for entry-level DSP positions Valid driver's license may be required Basic computer and communication skills Ability to assist with personal care Availability to complete required paid OPWDD and YAI training Benefits May Include Medical, dental, and vision insurance Tuition reimbursement Paid vacation, holidays, and sick time 403(b) retirement plan with employer matching DailyPay access Paid training and professional development Employee discounts Why Attend?
