Job Description
RISE is a nonprofit organization that was established in 1980 as Aid To The Developmentally Disabled (ADD) by family members who were concerned about the physical and emotional decline of patients compelled to live in crowded institutions. These family members believed that appropriate treatment and training in a warm, sheltered, homelike environment would enhance their physical and emotional growth. With the support, funding and licensing of New York State's Office of People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) and the Office of Mental Health (OMH), ADD came to life. We are currently seeking to hire a seasoned full time and part time Direct Support Professionals to work in our Greenport IRA. Direct Support Professionals support people with disabilities in a supportive residential program. They provide oversight in medical care, skill train on daily living tasks and provide counseling and crisis intervention. The program in Greenport is home to several individuals who enjoy activities such as street fairs, shopping and going out to eat. These people we support at the Greenport IRA have been living together for a long time and have established strong bonds and friendships. If you would like a position where you support others .
