Our Client is seeking a Behavioral Health Direct Support Professional to work in Hawthorne, NY.CLIENT'S AVAILABLE HOURS
- All shifts are available (ful schedulel and part-time)
SUMMARY OF CLIENT'S DESCRIPTION OF THIS OPPORTUNITY
The DSP is responsible for providing instruction to individuals to promote intellectual, emotional and social growth. As a Behavior Health Professional you will be working with the developmentally disabled population in a group home setting.- Ensure all activities are designed to foster growth to each individual's highest level of accomplishment.
- Ensure all care and services are delivered in a climate of normalization, caring and concern.
- Assisting consumers with their medications.
- Assist with daily Nutrition for consumer.
- Transporting consumers to appointments (as needed
CLIENT'S REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of one (1) year experience working with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Possess strong teaching skills with emphasis on individuals who are emotionally, behaviorally, physically and/or developmentally challenged.
- Experience in the principles and application of Applied Behavior Analysis is a plus.
- Current CPR, SCIP and First Aide
- Proof of highest level of education
- Ability to satisfactorily complete given background checks Persons with experience in the following roles are welcome to reply: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Home Health Aide (HHA), Home Care, Personal Care Assistant (PCA), Companion, Caregiver, and Patient Care Technician (PCT)
