We're seeking compassionate, reliable Home Health Aides (HHAs) and Personal Care Aides (PCAs) to provide personalized in-home care. Both roles work under the supervision of a registered nurse; PCAs may also be supervised by another qualified supervisor, as required by New York State regulations. About the Roles HHAs and PCAs both help clients remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their own homes, and the two roles share most day-to-day responsibilities. As a PCA , you'll provide assistance with personal hygiene, nutritional and environmental support, feeding, dressing, and light housekeeping tasks. As an HHA , you'll provide that same personal care and housekeeping support, plus carry out basic health-related tasks under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Note:

New York State requires HHA applicants to first hold a PCA certification before completing HHA training. Shared Responsibilities —

HHA & PCA

Assist with personal care, such as bathing, grooming, moving from one area to another, eating, dressing, laundry and overall hygiene Support mobility, safe transfers, ambulation, and positioning Prepare meals and assist with feeding when needed Communicate clearly and effectively with clients regarding their care, daily needs, and any changes in condition Provide companionship and emotional support Perform light housekeeping such as making beds, dish washing, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment Remind clients about medications, as permitted by care plans, law, and agency policy Shopping for groceries and running essential errands as authorized in the care plan Monitor, observe, and report changes in the client's physical, mental, emotional, or cognitive condition to the supervising nurse or designated supervisor Document care and services provided accurately and in a timely manner Follow care plans, agency policies, infection-control procedures, and HIPAA regulations Contact respective individuals for requests outside of approved tasks or the care plan Home Health Aide (HHA) — Additional Responsibilities In addition to the shared responsibilities above, and under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, HHAs perform basic health-related tasks, including: Taking and recording temperature, pulse, and respiration Assisting with prescribed exercises and skin care Assisting with simple, non-sterile dressing changes on stable wounds, as directed Performing simple urine testing and recording results Preparing modified diets as prescribed by a physician Checking vitals Qualifications Required — All Applicants Ability to assist clients safely with activities of daily living (ADLs) Authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available for this position Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift at least 40 lbs. and perform physical caregiving tasks throughout the shift Ability to travel to client homes within assigned service areas (throughout NYS) Required to maintain training, competency, and annual in-service education Home Health Aide (HHA) Certification Active New York State 75-hour Home Health Aide (HHA) certification, or willing to get certified in NYS (People Care will train you — applicants must already hold their PCA certification) This role requires compliance with NYS health and safety regulations for home health aides Personal Care Aide (PCA) Certification Active New York State 40-hour Personal Care Aide (PCA) certification, or willing to get certified in NYS (People Care will train you) This role requires compliance with NYS health and safety regulations for personal care aides Preferred — Both Roles Experience in home care, senior care, personal care, companion care, or caregiving Strong communication and interpersonal skills Compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused Apply Today Start a rewarding career where your compassion makes a difference every day.
