We're looking for compassionate, engaging, and reliable individuals to join our dedicated team of DSPs supporting our Ossining program. Located in a charming Hudson River community known for its scenic beauty, this welcoming residence is home to seven adults with big personalities who bring plenty of energy, enthusiasm, and fun to everyday life. They are very social and enjoy spending time together, connecting with staff, and participating in activities throughout the community. You'll join them in their favorite activities and routines, from trips to the mall and intense competitions at Dave & Buster's to cooking groups, listening to music, going to the gym, manicures and pedicures, playing board games, and chilling out together on movie nights. They also enjoy planning outings to places like the Poconos, the Catskills, and Hershey, PA. You'll not only share in these experiences, but also have the opportunity to introduce your own interests and hobbies, helping them discover new ones along the way. Beyond activities, DSPs provide support with daily routines, personal care, meal preparation, and independent living skills while helping each person work toward the goals in their individualized support plan. Assist individuals with shopping, managing personal funds, and safeguarding their personal belongings, as appropriate. Collaborate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, families, and other professionals while contributing solution-oriented ideas and maintaining open communication. Complete all required documentation accurately, thoroughly, and within established timeframes. Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. Demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and a genuine interest in supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Possess strong communication skills, including the ability to accurately complete required documentation and use basic computer applications. Previous experience supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, caregiving, healthcare, education, or related fields is valued, but not required. Be willing and able to provide hands-on support, including personal care, activities of daily living (ADLs), and assistance with mobility, as needed. Be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and assisting individuals safely using appropriate equipment and techniques. Obtain and maintain all required certifications, including SCIP, CPR, and AMAP (when applicable), in accordance with YAI requirements.
