Pearl River, New City, Nanuet, Pomona, Suffern, Stony Point, Nyack. Multiple Full Time positions for 3:00pm to 11:00pm shifts and weekends 7:00am to 3:00pm Up to $1000 in sign-on bonuses available- Earn $500 after 6 months of full-time employment and an additional $500 after 9 months of full-time employment.
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for implementing programs as well as providing care to individuals with disabilities. Additionally, is responsible for maintaining the physical environment of the home, administering medications and transporting individuals to medical appointments and day programs as well as participating in recreation and/or social activities with individuals served.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education:
High School Diploma or
GED/TASC
preferred. In lieu of education, three years' related experience may be accepted. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSAs): Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English. Good oral and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize assignments and delegate responsibility. Good interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with coworkers, employees, consumers, and families. Valid driver's license for 2 years and meet Agency's driving standards. Must attend and pass Medication Administration Certification Course. Must attend and pass First Aid Certification Course.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assures that all measures for safety and well-being are maintained at highest levels. Assists residents with all activities of daily living, including toileting, bathing and changing as needed by each individual. Transports residents to and from work, shopping, programs, doctor appointments, etc. Assists with meal planning and implementation of residents' treatment plans as determined by Interdisciplinary Treatment Team. Supports therapeutic and behavioral plans in partnership with clinical staff to enhance the quality of life for the individuals we support. Dispenses medications to residents. Attends weekly staff meetings and other related meetings. Facilitates community involvement by transporting and participating in recreation events within the community. Prepares concise written reports, including incident reports, and residents' progress notes. Responds to crisis situations and medical emergencies, including accidents, by taking quick and decisive action in absence of nurse. Administers appropriate first aid based on visible symptoms and resident history in accordance with guidelines and accepted first aid practices. Advocates for residents and supports them in exercising their rights by honoring their choices, preferences, abilities and opinions. This includes working in partnership with members' support networks to assist them in their efforts to develop and maintain relationships with family and friends, live a healthy lifestyle, lead self-directed lives, and achieve their hopes and dreams.
