We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team in providing exceptional care and support to an individual with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will be a positive influence and a great representation of the company. This individual is a minor and needs assistance Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 3:30p-8p and every other Saturday 12p-8p with personal care and leisure activities after school. We are looking for someone local in the Bowling Green, OH area as attendance is extremely important or someone who is willing to commute. We are looking to hire one set person and possibly a fill-in/back up. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts. Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes to healthcare professionals. Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans established by medical teams. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist residents during meal times to promote independence. Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning tasks and proper manual handling techniques. Document resident progress, update care plans, and record observations related to memory care, dementia, autism, or other neurodevelopmental disorders. Provide emotional support and companionship, fostering a respectful and engaging atmosphere for residents with intellectual disabilities or geriatrics. Experience Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or autism spectrum disorders. Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques including vital signs measurement and patient observation protocols. Familiarity with care procedures such as medication administration, CPR/First Aid certification, and use of assistive devices like Hoyer lifts. Experience supporting residents with complex needs including heavy lifting, manual handling, and assisting with ADLs in long-term care or home & community care environments. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and privacy of patient information. Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams including social workers and healthcare providers to develop personalized care plans.
