Direct Support Professional

Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance using tools like Hoyer lifts when necessary Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare professionals Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans to ensure safety and compliance Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal service in accordance with health standards Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control protocols are followed Engage residents in social activities, recreational programs, and community outings to promote socialization and mental well-being Document care activities accurately in compliance with privacy regulations such as HIPAA and assist in updating care plans regularly Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home health care is highly preferred Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer's and memory care), autism support, and hospice or palliative care is advantageous Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or medication administration are a plus Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks as needed for resident support Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities of any kind Experience working with seniors or individuals requiring long-term care or specialized memory support is beneficial Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for others Join us as a Direct Support Professional if you're passionate about making a positive impact through compassionate caregiving.
