Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, seniors, and those requiring specialized memory or dementia care. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility Monitor patient health by taking vital signs like blood pressure, pulse, and temperature regularly Administer medications accurately following care plans and HIPAA confidentiality standards Support residents during meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring proper nutrition intake Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance Observe and document patient conditions, behavior changes, or incidents to inform care strategies Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing routine cleaning tasks in accordance with health standards Implement personalized care plans tailored to each resident's needs, including dementia or Alzheimer's care Engage residents in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being Follow all safety protocols including CPR, first aid procedures, and emergency response procedures Experience Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments preferred Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD) Knowledge of dementia or Alzheimer's disease care techniques and memory care strategies Experience with medication administration and patient monitoring required Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of patient information necessary Hands-on experience using lifts such as Hoyer lift for resident transfers is advantageous Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members, residents, families, and healthcare professionals Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting residents with mobility needs Join us in providing compassionate support that transforms lives!
