Direct Support Professional (DSP) Hamilton, Ohio 45013 | Full-Time LCD Agency Services is Hiring 2 Full-Time DSPs LCD Agency Services is looking for two dependable, energetic, and compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide care and support to an individual in his home in Hamilton, Ohio 45013 . This is a one-person care position . There are three individuals who live in the home, but LCD staff provide care for one individual at a time, and occasionally two depending on the other individual's schedule . The individual is non-verbal , but has established ways of communicating his likes, dislikes, needs, and preferences. We're looking for staff who are patient, observant, and willing to learn how he communicates. Personality matters! He enjoys people who are fun, upbeat, positive, and engaged . Weekdays:

2:00 PM-11:00

PM Weekends:

7:00 AM-7:00 PM Every other weekend is required Responsibilities As a DSP, you will provide direct, hands-on support based on the individual's needs and service plan, including: Providing one-on-one support and companionship Assisting with activities of daily living Administering medications as trained and authorized Administering insulin as trained and authorized Preparing meals according to the individual's dietary needs Preparing modified and pureed foods Preparing and serving thickened liquids Following all dietary and safety guidelines Assisting with personal care and hygiene as needed Supporting community activities and appointments Encouraging independence and participation in daily activities Learning and responding to the individual's non-verbal communication Recognizing and respecting his likes, dislikes, preferences, and routines Maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment Completing required daily documentation Reporting changes, concerns, incidents, or other important information to the appropriate supervisor Following the individual's service plan and LCD Agency Services policies Medication Administration Medication administration is an essential responsibility of this position. Staff must successfully complete Medication Administration 1 and Medication Administration 3 classes and maintain all required certifications before administering medications and insulin. A High School Diploma or GED is required in order to qualify for and attend the required medication administration classes. Driver & Company Vehicle Requirements Use of a company vehicle is required for this position.

Applicants must:

Have a valid driver's license Have fewer than 3 points on their driver's license to qualify for coverage under LCD's company vehicle insurance Meet LCD's driving requirements Successfully pass a required background check Be comfortable driving the company vehicle as part of the position Successfully complete First Aid/CPR certification Minimum Requirements High School Diploma or GED Valid driver's license Fewer than 3 points on driver's license Successful completion of a background check Successful completion of Medication Administration 1 and Medication Administration 3 Ability to work the required schedule Every other weekend availability is required Ability to provide hands-on care Ability to prepare modified, pureed meals and thickened liquids Patient and comfortable supporting a non-verbal individual Positive, energetic, and engaging personality Dependable and responsible Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with the LCD team The Right Personality Matters We're looking for someone who brings good energy into the home .
