Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility support using proper manual handling techniques like Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods. Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient condition changes, and accurately documenting care plans in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper storage, documentation, and adherence to prescribed schedules. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness in kitchen areas. Provide transportation assistance for appointments, outings, or errands using safe driving practices and ensuring resident safety at all times. Engage residents in meaningful activities that promote cognitive function and social interaction, including memory care and dementia support strategies. Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing regular cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols aligned with healthcare standards such as hospice care or home health practices. Requirements New to the field welcome or prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, neurodevelopmental disorders, or dementia is highly valued. Demonstrated ability in patient observation, monitoring vital signs, and responding appropriately to medical emergencies through first aid or CPR certification. Knowledge of resident's rights and experience supporting aging populations in geriatrics or senior care settings. Ability to lift heavy objects safely using manual handling techniques; physical stamina for assisting with transfers or mobility support. Strong communication skills for effectively engaging with residents, families, healthcare teams, and community resources. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of sensitive health information. Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends or overnight hours as needed.
