Duties Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs. Monitor health status by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes to healthcare professionals promptly. Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans established by healthcare providers. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs, ensuring proper food handling and cleanliness standards are maintained. Maintain a clean, safe living environment by performing regular cleaning tasks and adhering to infection control protocols. Provide companionship and emotional support, engaging clients in social activities to promote mental well-being. Document care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies. Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly desirable. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer's and memory care), autism support, hospice care, and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities. Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and training in medication administration are preferred; willingness to obtain these certifications is required. Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks involving heavy lifting or resident transfers using Hoyer lifts or similar equipment. Strong communication skills with an understanding of HIPAA confidentiality standards. Experience with care planning, patient monitoring, vital signs measurement, and assisting with complex medical needs is advantageous.
