Job Description
Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide essential support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by assisting them in daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess strong caregiving skills, a commitment to patient care, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Responsibilities Provide personal care assistance to clients, including bathing, grooming, and dressing. Support clients with daily living activities such as meal preparation, medication reminders, and household tasks. Monitor client health and behavior, reporting any changes or concerns to appropriate personnel. Assist clients with mobility needs, including heavy lifting when necessary. Maintain a safe and clean environment for clients while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Engage clients in social and recreational activities that promote their physical and emotional well-being. Document client progress and maintain accurate records of care provided. Experience Previous experience in home health or caregiving is preferred but not required. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality is essential. Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed while providing support to clients. Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach towards client interactions are vital for success in this role.
