Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities and other related needs. The ideal candidate will assist clients in their daily activities, promote independence, and ensure a safe and nurturing environment. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those we serve through personalized care and support. Responsibilities Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks. Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering positive relationships. Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs and preferences. Support clients in community integration activities, encouraging participation in social events and outings. Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties. Monitor vital signs as needed and report any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Document client progress and communicate effectively with family members and other caregivers. Skills Experience in medication administration is highly desirable. Background in home care or community care settings is preferred. Knowledge of first aid procedures and emergency response techniques. Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities or other disabilities. Ability to perform basic cooking tasks to prepare nutritious meals for clients. Strong cleaning skills to maintain a hygienic living space for clients. Understanding of hospice care principles is a plus. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
