This person must be caring, compassionate, and dependable. The client needs someone to transport him to appointments, assist with housekeeping, and provide companionship. He does not have a cognitive disability and is very kind. He uses a wheelchair.

Monday Wednesday and Friday, 9am to 2pm. Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), where you will play a vital role in empowering individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health challenges, or aging needs to live fulfilling, independent lives. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to foster independence and dignity. Monitor patients' vital signs and observe their health status to ensure safety and timely intervention when needed. Administer medications following care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality. Support residents during meal preparation, cooking, and nutritional planning to promote healthy lifestyles. Conduct patient observation and monitor behavior to identify changes or concerns that require escalation. Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, incident reports, and progress notes in compliance with healthcare standards. Engage in cleaning duties to uphold a safe and sanitary environment in accordance with health regulations. Collaborate with healthcare professionals such as nurses and social workers to implement individualized care plans. Provide emotional support and companionship, fostering a positive environment that encourages social interaction and community participation. Experience Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of patient care techniques including assisting with ADLs, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or hospice care experience are a plus. Familiarity with assistive devices like Hoyer lifts or resident transfer techniques ensures safe patient handling. Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and patient safety are essential for success in this role. Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks while maintaining compassion and professionalism.
