Job Description

Job Summary Come Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) and become a vital part of empowering individuals with diverse needs to live fulfilling, independent lives. In this energetic and rewarding role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care to youth and adults with developmental disabilities, seniors, and individuals with special health needs. Your support will help enhance their quality of life through attentive caregiving, assistance with daily activities, and fostering a safe, nurturing environment. This paid position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day while developing valuable skills in healthcare and social support. Duties Assist residents (Youth & Adults) with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices. Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare teams or supervisors. Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines to ensure safety and compliance. Prepare nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with care plans and dietary restrictions while maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties, sanitation of common areas, and ensuring infection control protocols are followed. Engage residents in social activities and community outings to promote socialization and mental well-being. Document care activities accurately in resident records, including progress notes, incident reports, and updates on care plans. Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings, daycares is highly preferred. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or dementia care are advantageous. Demonstrated ability to work compassionately with individuals with developmental disabilities, Autism, Asperger's, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or memory care needs. Strong patient observation skills to monitor health status and recognize signs of distress or emergencies. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting residents with mobility or transfers using Hoyer lifts, Ceiling Track Lift or similar equipment. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, residents, families, and healthcare providers. Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, holidays, every other weekend, or overnight hours as needed for comprehensive resident support. Join us in making a positive impact!
