We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will empower clients to live as independently as possible while ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Duties Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and mobility assistance using manual handling techniques and patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or other equipment. Monitor patients' vital signs and observe their condition closely to identify any changes or concerns, ensuring timely communication with healthcare teams. Support medication administration following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality. Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning, cooking, and clean-up to promote healthy living. Provide transportation assistance for appointments, errands, or community outings using safe client transfer methods. Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, patient observations, and adherence to resident's rights policies in compliance with healthcare standards. Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote cognitive stimulation and social interaction, especially for individuals with dementia or neurodevelopmental disorders. Ensure a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and maintaining infection control standards consistent with healthcare protocols such as hospice or home health care practices. Qualifications Proven experience working with individuals with disabilities, developmental or intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or neurodevelopmental disorders. Prior experience in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care including Alzheimer's care and memory care strategies. Ability to perform patient monitoring tasks such as vital signs measurement and patient personal care assistance confidently. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications like Hoyer lift training or medication administration are a plus. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and resident's rights ensures respectful and confidential care delivery. Physical ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform manual handling tasks; experience working with patients requiring heavy lifting or patient transfer methods is preferred. Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration; experience working with seniors or individuals with neurodevelopmental or developmental disabilities enhances your fit for this role.
