Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time Direct Support Professional to provide essential assistance and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, including those with autism and other disabilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a caring attitude, and a commitment to fostering independence and well-being. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those served by promoting their health, safety, and community engagement through personalized care and support. Duties Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, grooming, and mobility needs. Support participation in community activities, social outings, and recreational programs to promote social integration. Implement behavior management strategies tailored to individual needs, ensuring a positive and supportive environment. Collect data related to progress, behaviors, and service delivery to inform care plans and report outcomes. Administer medication following prescribed guidelines while maintaining accurate documentation. Facilitate communication using various methods, including American Sign Language when applicable, to ensure effective understanding. Provide transportation assistance by driving clients to appointments, activities, or community events as needed. Requirements Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or behavioral health needs. Knowledge of special education principles and behavior management techniques. Familiarity with home and community care practices, including assisting with ADLs and caregiving tasks. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for transportation duties. Background in behavioral health or social work is advantageous. Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and compassion; experience in data collection and medication administration is preferred.
